Instructions
You will find the link to “rent” films on their respective pages. Films can be rented within the platform between July 17 and July 30, 2020 (11:59 PM, EDT). After you start playing a film, you have a 30-hour window to finish watching it. All film rentals will expire on August 1, 2020 at 5:59 AM (EDT). Presale
You can buy tickets in advance starting July 10, 2020 until the festival starts on July 17, 2020. Films purchased during presale can be watched during the festival period of July 17-30. The 30-hour window after starting a film also applies to films purchased during the presale.
Ticket Allotments
Every film has a maximum allotment of 1,200 tickets. After the 1,200 tickets are purchased, the film is considered “sold out.” (Please note: the film On-Gaku: Our Sound has an allotment of 600 tickets.)
Geoblocking
The majority of films have access restricted to the U.S. territory while a select few are available worldwide. The available streaming territory for each individual film is indicated on its respective page.
Members
Japan Society (NY) members are entitled to discounted tickets and will receive instructions by email. If you are not a member, please visit here for more information. If you are a member and have any issues, please email membership@japansociety.org.
