Momoko Ando is a film director. Her debut feature as writer/director, Kakera: A Piece of Our Life (2010), received wide acclaim in Japan and international festivals. In 2012, she published her first novel which she then adapted into 0.5mm (JC 2014) starring her sister Sakura Ando, which also received numerous awards in Japan and abroad including the Shanghai International Film Festival Best Director Award. Ando is the representative director of the movie theater Kinema M in Kochi Prefecture, where she currently resides.
